I choose to do my research on ways to foster healthy food choices and healthy habits. I think it is important for children to develop healthy eating habits and life style at an early age. It is not only important for their health but also children need to be healthy to learn. If we can teach our children ways to stay healthy, then we can help reduce the obesity in U.S. This week’s application assignment has helped give me ideas on how I can implement and educate our children on healthier eating. I have also learned that many private chains are also trying to enforce healthier eating habits. There are many words that I am not familiar with in research, so making this organizational chart has helped me greatly.
I could use any help with research ideas or information that would guide me in my research journey. I will try to give as much feedback and help you as well

ReplyDeleteI think this is a very timely topic and one that will be of great benefit to the ECE community. There are so many nutrition studies out there since this is such a hot topic, I know you will have no problem finding current ones to use for your research.
This is a really good topic, and a very important one in our country today. It is so unfortunate to see so many schools cutting physical education classes back and not putting a bigger emphasis on healthy lunches. I worked in an elementary school two years ago and most of the lunches are not anything I would ever eat. I hated having our students eat some of the stuff they put out for breakfast and lunch. Hopefully more solid research can prove to people the benefits of healthy eating and more physical activity for our children. I cannot wait to see what good information you come across!
ReplyDeleteThis is a topic that is very important to me as well. One of the resources you might find a lot of information is through the US Health Department. Or you can look into the Michele Obama's campaign "Let's Move". I am very interested in reading the information you find in your research.
ReplyDeleteThis is great and I am very anxious to begin reading about all of the things you will find. This topic is always in the news and in reports. It is probably because this is one of First Lady Obama's biggest initiatives. You should be able to find a lot of great information.
