· Think about which aspects of the groups made for the hardest good-bye. Are high-performing groups hardest to leave? Groups with the clearest established norms? Which of these groups that you participated in was hardest to leave? Why?
One of the hardest groups that I have to leave was a group that established a norm. We began to focus on developing and working together rather than an individual. We were out to educate the children on healthy lifestyles as well as keeping ourselves healthy. We all agreed on team rules we trusted each other. It was hard to leave because I was so passionate about what our group did and I developed a relationship with the other people on the team.
· What sorts of closing rituals have you experienced or wish you had experienced?
Our group had a lunch and we got together to celebrate our wonderful progress and what we have been doing for the year.
· How do you imagine that you will adjourn from the group of colleagues you have formed while working on you master’s degree in this program?
At the end of each class we show our appreciation on our blogs. We write on our colleagues blogs thanking them and telling them what we appreciated most during that course.
· Why is adjourning an essential stage of teamwork?
You can see what you have excelled in and also what you need to work on for the following year. It is a time to highlight the positive in what you are doing. It is always nice to feel praised for your hard work.
Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteI too like how we write to each other at the end of each class in our blogs. As a group we shared our thoughts and experiences so it really does feel like I have been through what you all are going through because I can relate to the situations in my life as well.
